What we do for our clients

We offer services in four areas. In doing so, we work very closely with our customers' employees

Our consultants often work in mixed teams with the client and apply in-depth sector knowledge to the domains below. Therefore we know the specific sector challenges and jargon and add value from day one.

Business & Functionele Analysis

Methis Consulting assists its clients in analysing business needs and developing  functional analyses in the context of the implementation of new ICT solutions (ERP systems, CRM systems, Mobile applications, etc.).

Typical activities in this context include:

- Capture, analyse, document and validate the business requirements through workshops with the stakeholders involved.

- Write functional analyses as input for the ICT teams.

- Fill in the role of sparring partner with the ICT teams.

- Supervise functional tests.

- Elaborate transition plans in the context of the go-live.

Critical success factors for us in this context are:

- In order to optimally implement the business needs in the primary applications, a very thoroughly elaborated functional design must be made avoiding as much as possible that changes still have to be made during the build and test phases. The later these changes are identified, the more expensive and risky they become.

- Our consultants have the necessary analytical skills, technical insight and experience to deliver blueprints that are supported by both business and technical stakeholders. Methis Consulting is convinced that the quality and depth of good business and functional design is one of the most crucial aspects for the successful delivery of a project or change in an organization. This is the basis for acceptance in the organization, a qualitative technical development, clarity during testing, a stable basis for training and the final realization of the initially provided business case.

Business Process Management

Although Business Process Management is a part of the Methis Consulting core business, we don’t approach this as a goal in itself. We believe that Business Process Management is a tool for translating business strategy and targets into operational results.

Our projects in process optimalisation are mainly based on one (or more) of these objectives:

- Realizing a more efficient operation of the organization or of certain departments (cost saving, e.g. lowering cost-to-serve): increasing self-service options for customers, implementing process simplifications, automating certain process steps, realizing efficiency gains based on lean techniques, etc.

- Improve customer service in order to increase customer satisfaction or Net Promoter Scores, reduce churn, improve the “customer experience”, improve the entry of new customers, etc.: We are convinced that an efficient operation (simple processes, reduce “waste” , etc.) is the key element for a smooth customer experience.

- Achieving “compliance”: The utility sector and public transport sector are highly regulated sectors in which new obligations must be implemented regularly (new market model, new legal obligations such as GDPR, etc.). We ensure a smooth implementation to which we similarly link maximum operational process improvements.

For us, the critical success factors in this context are:

- Clearly quantify the project objectives (e.g. an increase in customer satisfaction by x%, a decrease in cost-to-serve by y%)

- Involving (and possibly training) our customers in the choice of the methodology to be applied (e.g. Lean)

- Ensuring buy-in through frequent and substantive discussion with all stakeholders in an organization;

- Our consultants’ in-depth knowledge of market developments and challenges within the sector;

- Professional guidance in the translation of these process changes into systems and the day-to-day operation within your company.

(Agile) Project Management

At Methis we feel responsible for the final result. This means that, regardless of the role(s) we take up within a project, we will always be a sparring partner of the customer in terms of approach, methodology, best practices, etc. We regularly involve colleagues from other teams in order to achieve a solid action plan.

Methis Consulting has a profound team with extensive experience in realizing and leading projects within the energy and mobility sector. All our employees are multilingual and certified in one or more project management methodologies: PRINCE2, PMBOK, PRINCE2Agile, etc.

For us, the critical success factors in this context are:

- Determining together with the customer the applied  methodology (eg. if agile is chosen, this has a major impact on the working method within the team).

- Elaboration of a detailed project plan: planning, resources, risks, budgets, etc.

- Ensuring buy-in through frequent discussions with all stakeholders in an organization.

- Anchoring changes in an organization through a decisive change management approach.

Change Management

Methis Consulting assists its clients in developing and implementing an in-depth Change Management approach to integrate the changes in the organization (both in terms of the organization itself and in terms of processes and fundamental systems) as smoothly as possible into the daily operations of our clients.

For this, we mainly use the PROSCI ADKAR method, the most widely used methodology for Change Management worldwide. Typical activities in this context include:

- Elaborate a Change Management approach.

- Develop a stakeholder management overview & action plan.

- Prepare and facilitate road shows to explain the changes within the organization.

- Elaborate a compelling communication plan.

- Organize and prepare training courses.

For us, the critical success factors in this context are:

- Sufficient attention to the human side of change: change management is much more than just a communication plan and tailored training.

- The stakeholder management overview is a solid basis to keep an overview per target group of the current status and the planned actions. This is a must-have in an initial phase.

- A plan to maintain close contact with the target groups is crucial to keep “in touch” with the reality in the organization and to adjust the plan if necessary.

- Regular measuring points (based on eg. online surveys) are an ideal way to measure the evolution of the organization.
